Privacy policy

This website provides information about Andrzej Halicki’s public work. It has no newsletter, visitor registration or data-collection forms. We use no analytics tools or advertising pixels. This policy explains the website’s technical operation, email contact and content hosted by other providers.

Controller and contact

The controller of personal data relating to this website is Andrzej Halicki. For privacy enquiries and requests concerning your rights, contact biuro@halicki.pl. This policy concerns this website; it does not cover the European Parliament’s separate systems or the handling of individual constituency cases.

Technical connection data

To establish a connection, your browser sends the server technical information, including your IP address, the requested page and browser information. The hosting service and its security systems may keep technical logs to operate the website, diagnose errors and prevent abuse. The website is hosted by Vipserv.

Technical operation and security are based on the controller’s legitimate interest in keeping the website available and secure (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We do not use this information to profile visitors or make automated decisions about them.

Email enquiries

An email link opens your email application; it does not send a message automatically. If you write to us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to provide. For website enquiries, we use this information to reply and handle correspondence, based on legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Providing information in an email is voluntary, but we may be unable to reply without contact details.

Cookies and your choice

Essential mechanisms may protect the hosting service, authenticate editors and remember your privacy choice. We do not request consent for mechanisms strictly necessary to provide a service you request. Optional external media is blocked by default.

Mechanism Purpose Duration
hn_privacy_v1 Records whether you allow external media, the date and settings version. It contains no user identifier. 180 days
WordPress technical cookies Cookie checks and authorised editor sign-in. Visitors do not register accounts. Depends on the session and sign-in settings
Hosting security Access verification and protection against automated abuse. Depends on the hosting mechanism

External videos, players and images

Archived articles may contain content from YouTube (Google), Facebook (Meta), TOK FM, Polskie Radio and other providers named beside the material. Their players and externally hosted images do not load before you consent. Instead, we display the provider’s name and a link to open the material on its own website.

Selecting “Allow external media” permits this content to load. Providers then receive connection data, including your IP address, and may use their own cookies, associate the visit with your account or process data for their own purposes. Our transmission of data through these embeds is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Providers also apply their own policies, including Google’s and Meta’s. Some services may process data outside the European Economic Area under the arrangements described in their privacy policies.

You can withdraw consent at any time through “Privacy settings” in the footer by selecting “Essential only”. We then remove loaded embeds and prevent further loading on the website. Withdrawal does not undo information already sent to a provider. You can remove its cookies through your browser settings. Ordinary links to other websites work independently of this choice; opening them is subject to the destination’s policies.

Recipients and retention

Authorised website staff and the hosting provider may access technical data as needed to operate and secure the service. Information is retained only for as long as correspondence, security or applicable legal duties require. Ask the controller for the period relating to a particular enquiry or log. Your external-media choice is remembered for 180 days. External providers apply their own retention periods.

Your rights

Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you may request access, rectification, erasure or restriction of your personal data, object to processing based on legitimate interest and exercise data portability where applicable. You may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. You may also lodge a complaint with the President of Poland’s Personal Data Protection Office.
